About

The Federation of Malayalee Associations of Americas (FOMAA) Southeast Region represents the vibrant Malayalee community across southeastern states in the United States. This region plays a crucial role in uniting Malayalees by fostering cultural, social, and educational initiatives that celebrate Kerala’s rich heritage. Through member associations, the Southeast Region actively organizes events such as traditional festivals, youth leadership programs, and charity drives, serving as a bridge between generations and connecting the diaspora with their cultural roots.

In addition to cultural preservation, FOMAA Southeast Region emphasizes community building and advocacy. By collaborating with local organizations, corporate sponsors, and government entities, the region addresses the needs of the community, including immigration assistance, educational scholarships, and professional networking opportunities. Its efforts ensure that Malayalees in the Southeast not only stay connected to their heritage but also thrive in their adopted homeland. The region’s collective spirit and commitment make it an integral part of FOMAA’s mission to serve the global Malayalee community.

Founded in 2008, FOMAA comprises 84 Kerala / Malayalee associations throughout North America and Canada. FOMAA’s National Committee is democratically elected bi-annually by the National Assembly, consisting of 7 Delegates from each Member Association.

FOMAA is administratively divided into 12 Regions. Our Current Committee took charge on Nov 1st, 2023, and we have a roadmap of over 100 activities lined up for the next two years thru our various sub-committees, projects, and forums. One of the critical goals of FOMAA is to encourage people of Kerala & Indian origin to participate in public community leadership roles.
